Bio: Mako Mikaberidze cooperates with CSS since 2003. She holds Master’s degree in Social Sciences; in 2005 she graduated from interdisciplinary Master’s program in Transformation in the South Caucasus, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. In 1996-1997 she studied at Public Administration College of TACIS, at Tbilisi Technical University and received certificate in General and Financial Management Program. In 1995 she got Diploma as a graduate of the Faculty of Biology, major – Immunology, TSU. In 1998 – 2004 she worked at Open Society Georgia Foundation holding different positions. She worked at OSGF administration office (1998-1999), was a coordinator of Higher Education Support Program (1999 – 2001), coordinator of Social Sciences Support Program (2001-2003), coordinator of Academic Translation and Publishing Program (2002-2004), Grant’s administrator (2003 – 2004). From May 2004 she started working at the Center for Social Sciences as a coordinator, administering different projects and activities such as international conferences, workshops, publications, academic translations implemented by CSS. At the same time, she was coordinating the students integrated service office for new interdisciplinary Master programs being developed and administered by CSS for the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at TSU. From 2008 she is working as CSS administrative director. In 2010-2011 she was also serving as a head of CSS Doctoral Training Unit (DTU), coordinating activities of international PhD programs in IR and Gender Studies and the Research Methods Training Module for TSU PhD students. Since April 2013 Mako is the director of OSF HESP funded project “Graduate Programs at the Faculty of Social and Political Studies at Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University”. Mako was a member of CSS Board of Directors in 2007-2014. In 2013-2014 she was an Executive Director of CSS. From January 2015 Mako started working as a Deputy Director General at the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. Mako is still collaborating with CSS within the CSS Education and Development Programme as an Affiliated Fellow of Education. In 2021 Mako was elected as a Chair of the CSS Board.
