Raising Awareness about Georgia's Europeanization in Academia [RAGEA]

In 2016-2018 CSS implemented the project entitled "Raising Awareness about Georgia's Europeanization in Academia" [RAGEA] with the financial support of the EC Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Activities. The project encompassed conducting series of seminars on various dimensions of Europeanization in eight public and private universities of Georgia in Tbilisi and the regions. The seminars were open to the students from all three levels (BA/MA/PhD). In addition, the public talks entitled the "EU Talks" were delivered within the scope of the project. At the final stage, an international conference entitled “Performing Europeanization: the Case of Georgia and Other EaP Countries” was organized at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, Tbilisi.

         

A team of 6 professionals (university professors, researchers and practitioners) working on the issues related to Georgia’s EU integration who elaborated workshop materials around the following topics (the seminar materials can be downloaded):

At the second stage, series of public discussions entitled The EU Talks were planned and organized. In total 8 EU Talks were organized in Tbilisi. Each session featured groups of students, scholars, practitioners, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations. In addition, each session also had several keynote speakers; one of the sessions featured the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Janos Herman as one of the keynote speakers. In particular, the following sessions were conducted (respective keynote speakers are indicated to each session):

On January 22-23, 2018 within the RAGEA project an international conference entitled "Performing Europeanization: the Case of Georgia and Other EaP Countries"was organized at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. The conference briught together established and emerging international and local practitioners and scholars who shared their research findings on the current developments and transformations taking place in Georgia and other EaP countries, as well as the EU's enlargement strategy and Europeanization mechanisms targeting the EaP region.
